AREAS AFFECTED: San Diego County Mountains; San Diego County Deserts
DESCRIPTION: At 232 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Mount Laguna, moving southwest at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Mount Laguna, I-8 Between Pine Valley And Boulevard, Hwy S2 Vallecito Creek Rd, Hwy S2 Between Canebrake And Imperial County Line, Hwy S2 Between Agua Caliente And Canebrake, Fish Creek Wash, Pine Valley, Hwy S2 Between Shelter Valley And Agua Caliente, northeastern Boulevard, La Posta Indian Reservation, Canebrake, Agua Caliente, Manzanita Indian Reservation, and Campo Indian Reservation.
INSTRUCTION: If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
